Explore Where Legal Skills Can Take You
Founder’s Message
LGLR started with a simple frustration: it can be surprisingly difficult to understand what a career actually involves before you’re expected to make decisions about pursuing it
As a first-generation aspiring solicitor, I threw myself into legal careers events long before I had even started university. I attended numerous networking sessions, built up my LinkedIn, and tried to learn as much as I could about the profession. But whilst I was busy chasing opportunities and making connections, I kept running into one major hurdle: when it came to applications, I did not understand the work itself well enough to genuinely explain why a particular firm or practice area interested me.
That changed when I attended a practical legal workshop run by a firm. For the first time, I was able to work through the kind of task a lawyer might actually do, rather than simply hear someone describe the role. It gave me a completely different understanding of the work - and made me wonder how useful it would be if workshops like this were easier to access, all in one place, across lots of different practice areas and career paths.
That’s why I created Let’s Get Legally Real.
I wanted to build a space where people could get closer to the work itself: seeing professionals work through realistic tasks, explain how they approach problems and share what their careers are really like - without needing to secure an internship, work experience placement or competitive opportunity first.
Beyond traditional legal careers
While law sits at the heart of LGLR, legal knowledge and skills can lead in many directions.
Through LGLR, you can explore careers across law, compliance and other law-related fields, hear directly from professionals and get a clearer sense of what different roles involve in practice.
The goal is not to tell you which career to choose. It’s to give you better information and practical exposure so you can work that out for yourself.
Why it’s free
Because at LGLR, we believe that education and knowledge should be a right, not a privilege.
So, enjoy the platform - and I hope it gives you the little push, confidence and support you need to keep pursuing the opportunities and careers that excite you. In such a competitive career market, I hope LGLR can make that journey feel a little more accessible. Good luck, and enjoy exploring :)
Yours sincerely,
Sally Sano
